Dr. Matsuzawa involved in the bio-interface engineering using surface modification technologies, such as plasma polymerization. The surface modification by plasma polymerization provides unique surface characteristic, which is biocompatible. He has developed varieties of plasma surface coating methods and equipment for industrial applications (contact lenses, vascular grafts and stents, blood transfusion tubes).
