World Cup O70

Dear Soccer friends,

The world’s largest international soccer tournament for old boy’s players over the age of 70, World Cup 70+, will be played in Roskilde, Denmark on 24-26 August 2022.

At the same time, the world’s first international football tournament is played for players over the age of 75 – World Cup 75+

Since 2017 the International Football World Cup 70+ has been hosted in Kizuna in Tokyo, Akademikernes Boldklub (AB) in Bagsværd, Denmark, in FC Osaka, Japan and planned in 2021 to be held by NC United in Seattle, but unfortunately cancelled because of the Covid-19 pandemic

The tournament expects the participation of teams from Japan, United States, Taiwan, England, Wales, Germany, and Denmark – A total of 16 teams Over 70 and 8 teams Over 75

FC Georgia United registered one team for the upcoming Soccer World Cup O70, O75 in 2022. Yasuo will put the O70 team together.

Rules for 70+ Division

11 v 11 on full sized fields with full size goals
All fields will be modern turf surfaces.
Games will be of 25 minutes each half with a 5-minute half-time break.
Each team will play 2 games on Wednesday and Thursday, and depending on results, either 1 or 2 games on Friday. All teams will play at least 5 games.
The tournament fee is Euro 550 per team.
Player age is considered to be his or her age on December 31, 2022, that is, anyone born in 1952 or earlier, is considered to be 70 or more years old.
Rosters may have no more than 4 players who are 68 or 69 years old (born in 1953 or 1954).
Teams may not have more than 2 players at any given time on the field who are 68 or 69 years old.

Sightseeing - and social gatherings

We plan guided excursions to sights in and around Roskilde for players and spouses – and to provide opportunities in Roskilde for social gatherings after today’s matches
